HotTopics and Good Things Foundation Unite for Digital Inclusion

At HotTopics, we believe in connecting leaders and inspiring action to drive purposeful change. Our latest partnership with Good Things Foundation, the UK's leading charity for digital inclusion, demonstrates our commitment to addressing the growing digital divide.

With over 18,000 executives in our global network, we are determined to foster digital inclusion across the UK and beyond. This collaboration tackles the lack of access, digital skills, and confidence affecting millions—issues made more urgent by the cost-of-living crisis and rapid technological advancements.

Collaborating for Change

In the UK, digital exclusion remains a significant challenge. While technology evolves rapidly, many are being left behind. Currently, 8.5 million adults lack basic digital skills, and 2.4 million struggle to afford mobile phone contracts. Good Things Foundation, with a network of over 5,000 community partners, is at the forefront of efforts to address this through digital skills training and community support.

Empowering Communities through Digital Inclusion Initiatives

  • Fundraising Campaigns: We will collaborate with Good Things Foundation on fundraising campaigns to support the "Fixing The Digital Divide" initiative.

  • Reusing IT Equipment for Social Good: We encourage our members to donate their used IT equipment to the National Device Bank, operated by Good Things Foundation. This initiative not only reduces electronic waste but also provides refurbished devices to those who need them most. Recycling initiatives will also be available to our members globally, through Good Things Foundation’s charity partners worldwide.

  • Community Events: Together with Good Things Foundation, we will organize community events focused on digital inclusion, education, and awareness-raising. These events will provide valuable resources and support to individuals seeking to improve their digital skills.

Through these initiatives, we aim to create a more inclusive digital landscape, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in an increasingly digital world. This partnership exemplifies how collaboration between leading organisations can drive meaningful change and set the agenda for purposeful transformation in society.
