As well as leading the strategy for Civil’s more traditional IT function Stuart’s teams operate the ‘IntelligentEngine’, a collection of digital products and services that underpin our TotalCare service ensuring our engines optimal operation and engine availability. Stuart’s teams build these product and services using the very latest cloud technologies, data analytics and AI capabilities to ensure Rolls-Royce maximise the availability of its engines for its customer. Our Applied Intelligence Platform (Data) helps avoid unplanned maintenance whilst optimising the maintenance forecasting and planning to minimise customer disruption and ensure we have the right parts, in the right location sustainably. Stuart brings considerable experience to Rolls-Royce from other industries. Most recently, he was Group Chief Information Officer at JCB the industrial construction equipment manufacturer where he transformed the companies 80,000 machines telematics system adding digital safety, fuel and security advice to improve fleet efficiency and Chief Information Officer at ecommerce disrupters THG. Prior to this, he held senior positions in many “born digital” companies: Chief Technology Officer at travel market place LateRooms.com, Chief Information Officer at ecommerce disrupters THG and Moneysupermarket.com. Stuart creates an environment in which his team and innovation can thrive by driving focus on value and giving the team the autonomy to get the job done.
