MedCity CEO, Sarah Haywood was instrumental in conceiving and setting up the initiative, first as Head of Life Sciences at London & Partners, the Mayor of London’s promotional agency for the capital, and then as MedCity’s COO.

MedCity, launched in April 2014, is a collaboration between the Mayor of London and the capital’s three Academic Health Science Centers; Imperial College Academic Health Science Center, King’s Health Partners, and UCL Partners.

She was promoted to become MedCity CEO in December 2015 and was then nominated as one of Hot Topics & Hotwire’s global Health Tech 100 in June 2016.

The list, focused on the 100 individuals driving innovation in healthcare, encompassed entrepreneurs, investors, healthcare providers, policy makers and corporate executives. This interview forms part of the editorial series that will feature a number of the individuals on the list.

The interview, which will be conducted by award winning health journalist, Danny Buckland, will center in on the aims of the organization, its challenges in promoting investment and entrepreneurship in life sciences and Sarah’s role as MedCity CEO.
